The weather was awful this weekend, it rained from Saturday afternoon onwards and we had violent thunderstorms on Sunday. During a break in the storms I went out and inspected the gardens to see if there had been any damage, and luckily other than my flagpole falling down there had not been anything major. However, the weight of the rain on the carpet roses had snapped some down so I got my scissors, snipped them off and brought them into the house. This is unusual for me, I hardly ever cut flowers from my garden, unless of course they have been snapped down by some other force (or cat) as in this case. As it was I have a large spare vase so I also snipped some Japanese Privet as a filler and arranged them and placed them in the dining area window. The cats have not noticed them yet, I am hoping that the thorns will keep them at bay.

And, another asiatic lily opened today, as I said earlier soon the garden is going to be swoonworthy when the rest of them open, and then the orientals will not be far behind. I can't wait.
